Njal’s Saga

The most important historical event in Njal’s Saga is the conversion of Iceland to Christianity (c. 1000 CE). In what ways does the coming of Christianity change the Icelandic social order introduced in the first part of the book? Consider the impact of Christianity on the (1) legal systems, (2)conceptions of personal and family honor, (3)the value placed on life (of the individual and in general), and the (4)roles of men and women.
