The focus of the final project for our class is to answer the question “How has developmental psychology impacted my life?†You will do this with as much depth and detail as possible. After reviewing your textbook, class notes, discussions and videos, include in your project any applications of developmental terms/concepts as they apply to your own growth and development. Your goal is to explore your past and current environments and their influence on who you are today while demonstrating an understanding of terms, concepts, and theories covered in this course.
- Reflect upon your learning of developmental psychology in this course and how it relates to your own life.
- Create a stand-alone, self-explanatory presentation (PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, PDF, or your choice…) that depicts a minimum of 10 applications/illustrations of developmental theories or concepts (4 points each). You must choose at least 2 physical, 2 cognitive, and 2 psychosocial concepts. The remaining 4 concepts can come from any developmental domain.
- For each chosen theory or concept, including some form of graphic representation and then describe how it has influenced or manifested in your personal growth and development.
- Share your project on the discussion page as an attachment or web link. Be sure that you have modified any relevant settings so that everyone has permission to view your work. Test it from another device and make sure you can access your presentation.
In keeping with our course commitment to active learning, critical thinking, and gender/cultural diversity, I strongly encourage creativity and independent thinking on this project. Don’t be afraid to try something new and unusual. Possible suggestions include song lyrics, pictures, letters, television or movie clips, toys, poems, artwork, cartoons, etc. Remember: Have fun and be creative!
