pursuit Policies with public safety in mind.
Many agencies have tightened up the pursuit Policies with public safety in mind. Some have decided they would only chase for Violent Felonies including Rape, Robbery, and Murder, and not chasing for crimes like Burglary, Auto Theft, and lesser offenses¦¦ Do you agree with the above policies, would you want the police to stop chasing someone in your car that was just stolen? Does the time of day, traffic conditions, ect have an impact on when an officer can chase go into effect? Does the agency accept some form of liability for failing to act/derriliction of duty when they terminate a chase and the offender could be caught? How would you handle this as a Chief?
