 Research Paper: Deep Dive into Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality In the second stage of this course you will utilize what you have learned to create an 8-10 page research paper on a topic in virtual/augmented or mixed reality. Your specific topic will require instructor approval. The area of virtual/augmented or mixed reality was selected due to the wide range of possible applications of these technologies. The guidelines for the format, structure as well as the grading rubric for your Research Paper are in the syllabus and Canvas. Your Research Paper will be created in Microsoft Word. You will be expected to include at least one Table and one Chart created with Microsoft Excel. You earn no points for your Research Paper if it is submitted late or not through Canvas. There are no opportunities to make up assignments or earn extra credit in this course. Your Research Paper score will be calculated and posted in the Canvas Grade Book. Please don’t email your instructor about the Research Paper grade, please look in the Canvas Grade Book. Stage 2: Deep Dive into Virtual/Augmented/Mixed Reality. Having defined a process for exploration of a new technology, in the second stage of this course you will utilize that process to create an 8-10 page research paper on a topic in virtual/augmented or mixed reality. The area of virtual/augmented or mixed reality was selected due to the wide range of possible applications of these technologies. The assessment of your writing competency will be derived from the definition of college-level writing: Presents a clearly defined central idea or thesis; Provides adequate support for that idea; Is organized clearly and logically; Is presented in a format appropriate to the purpose, occasion, and audience; and, Utilizes standard conventions appropriate for study in English You can, and are encouraged, to provide one or two pages of your research paper no later than one week prior to its due date. The earlier you submit your pages the better. You will receive feedback and be allowed to modify your work.
